Magazine review blogpost


  1. Selling line: a short tittle of the photos description.
  2. Masthead: the head title of the magazine.
  3. Dateline: date the magazine was released.
  4. Coverline: around the main mage, noticeable but not too much to where it takes away from the photo.
  5. Model credit: photographers credit.
  6. Bar code: used by retailers.
  7. Main cover line: very large note of the main cover.
  8. Main image: The image is used in a classic way, the face is big enough to stand out on the news-stand, with the model making full eye-contact
  9. Left third: The left third of the magazine cover is vital for sales in shops where the magazine is not shown full-frontage.

What Is Photoshop


1. What are the three parts of Adobe Photoshop?
Tittle bar, Menu bar, & options bar

2. What types of professionals use Photoshop?
Animator, web designers, astronomers, commercial printers, photographers, 

3. What are the functions of the three different components of Photoshop?
correcting images, color adjusting, size adjusting


4. Crop Tool 
The Crop tool is used to cut off a portion of your photo to make it smaller or bigger in size.

5. Lasso Tool
The lasso tool is used to select a specific part of a photo and create a specific shape so that when you edit something only the portrait inside the shape that was made gets affected by the edits.

6. Text Tool
The text tool is used to add any text to any picture of your choosing. 

7. What buttons do you push to "Undo" a mistake you made?
To undo a mistake you press Command-Z (Mac) or CTRL-Z (PC)

8. What can you open to "undo" more than one mistake? How do you open it?
To undo more than one action, you have to pull up the History palette. You can do this by going to the Window --> History menu.

9. How do you rotate an image?
To rotate an image you have to go to the image menu and select image rotation.

10. If you don't like the initial cropping box you drew, how can you change it before you make your crop?
Press Return (Enter, on a PC) to confirm your crop, or press the Esc key to cancel the crop.

11. Under the heading "Resizing while Cropping" when you enter dimensions as you crop, what are you telling Photoshop to do as you crop your image? HINT: it involves ratios.
Essentially, you are telling Photoshop which dimensions the image should result in after your crop. 

12. What is the correct resolution for newsletters and newspapers?
newsletters and newspapers are likely to require resolutions in the range of 150 to 200 ppi 

13. What is the correct resolution for magazines?
magazines are likely to prefer high resolution images of 250 ppi or more.

Final Semester Exam Extra Credit


1. Explain what happened to the man that was killed by the subway and how the photographer was able to take the photo. 
The man was shoved into the track by an unidentified person and as the photographer saw he took out his camera to try to waarn the subway driver to stop but he could not stop in time. 

2. Why did the photographer say he took the photo?
To warn the subway driver to stop.
3. Do you think the photographer should have taken the photo?
No because he should have run to try to help the person instead of taking the picture that the driver might not even saw the flash.
4. Do you think the photographer did the best thing he could have done in this situation? Why or why not?
No he should have run and try to help him get of there before the train got to hit him
5. Do you agree or disagree with the decision to run the photo on the front page of the New York Post? Explain why or why not.
I agree because that way people will be more careful and thuaghful before pushing someone into the tracks again.
6. What is more important to a photojournalist, capturing images of life as it happens or stopping bad things from happening? Why or why not?
Capturing images of life as it happens because they might never get the chance of capturing the image again and will live with the though of how there life would have been if they had taken the picture.
7. Do you think it is ever ethically acceptable for a photographer to involve himself/herself in a situation that he or she photographs? Explain why or why not.
Yes maybe he or she is apart of the event that happen and if he or she wants everyone to be involve in it the therefore he or she must involve themselves
8. Should photojournalists always avoid influencing events as they happen? Explain your answer. 
Sometimes yes because it might affect someone in a very negative way causing the to do something he or she might not want to do or getting fire or there life might go down the drain.they should think how it might affect people first

9. After reading the responses from the professional photographers, what stands out as the most appropriate response for a photographer to this situation.
That he did everything in his power to help out the man as he could and it was not his intention of getting the picture but instead of helping him by warning the driver of the subway 

Final Semester Exam Part 3

This picture is a perfect example of balancing elements because the moon and the olympic circles fall into place correctly as if the moon was suppose to be part of them. there are no leading lines in this picture which allows it to be brought out very astonishingly.

This is a picture that has simplicity in it making it only focus on the 7 cyclist that are riding there bikes and making the background black making it focus on there subjects more than anything.

This man was caught from different angle so view point has to be involve in the picture also simplicity because the man is by himself with no one else so all eyes most be on him and the plain background pops him out more as well.

Repetition is presented in this photo because of the grass everywhere from one side of the picture to the other, also view point because the subject seems like if she is far away also Framing sounds like if it was involved with this picture. 

Final Semester Exam Part 2

 Death comes when you least expect it,at the worst possible time as Ben Green experienced it at the age of 69 december the 16th in Colorado, Texas. He was driving on Mopac in the morning just as his window was burst open by a speeding bullet. Many people believe he had this coming being a former mafia leader many had a bod bone to pick with him. 
 It takes forever to start but it spreads in seconds officer Ibarra commented to the pressed. On the 4th of july many campers started a camp fire to watch the fireworks but suddenly a fire work was shoot into the flames and it made it spark with intensity. The fire was put out by brave officer Ibarra who was the hero of the day saving 2 children's from death.  
Fire isn't something to be played with 16 year old David Wang experience that in a near death experience. As everyone was having fun at the annual spring parade David was lit on fire by his former bullies as a prank but later saw out to be one of the closes death experience of his life.
